Spears are a type of Weapon in New World. Spears are melee weapons designed for piercing with a long reach and can also be thrown from distance, providing versatility in both melee and ranged combat. They can be obtained in a number of ways: Through Crafting, found as random loot in chests and containers, as random drops by Enemies and Bosses or as rewards for completing Quests. Weapons provide many different options and approaches to combat, allowing the player to deal damage in different ways.
New World Spear Overview
The Spear is a melee weapon that boasts superior range without compromising on speed. The Spear is primarily used as a two-handed melee weapon that offers quick, piercing strikes from medium distance and applying debuffs that renders an enemy's defenses less effective. It can also be used to perform large, sweeping strikes for crowd control. On top of having the longest reach among all melee weapons, the spear can also be thrown, making for an extremely versatile weapon that excels in both close and ranged combat.
The Spear's damage scales primarily off of the player's Dexterity Attribute, with Strength providing some benefit as well. Investing in these attributes will improve the player's effectiveness with all Spear weapons.
Spear Skills
Spears have two Masteries at their disposal. The Zoner Skill Tree mainly focuses on Crowd Control and Throwing attacks, while the Impaler Skill Tree is primarily focused on damage and inflicting Bleed and Rend.
