Combat Introduction

You can approach to Captain Aldous Thorpe who is apparently wounded, sitting on a rock. Right when you approach him, an enemy will surprise you and attack you. This is your first battle. You will be introduced to the combat actions, such as Draw Your Weapon, Block, Attack, Dodge and Heavy Attack. After defeating the enemy you will be able to talk to Captain Aldous Thorpe. He will tell you that something is wrong and then dissipate into the air with a reddish energy.

Recover Captain Thorpe's Items

Take all of the items that Captain Thorpe left on the ground (Press E)

Inventory

You can now access to your inventory, to equip an item you must click and drag or double click the items to the corresponding slots. Equip the shield and the basic food.

Escape the Ship Graveyard to look for your Crewmates

Eating & Health

After equipping the basic food, you will be instructed to the Eating & Health mechanics, eat the basic food you equipped to heal yourself.

Scale over Objects

Move forward and explore the area, you will encounter weak enemies that you should defeat to start getting the hang of it. You will eventually find an obstruction and you will be instructed to scale over the obstruction quickly.

Reach Higher Ground to get a Better View of the Area

Block Breaking

The next enemy is carrying a shield, disrupt blocks with Heavy Attacks. Hold the Heavy Attack button, the longer you hold it, the more it will increase the damage you deal with your character.

Purchase Upgrades

If you been defeating every enemy you encountered, at this point you should have gained a Sword and Shield Mastery point and you can Purchase upgrades.

You will be able to choose only one, and you can choose an ability, pick the one you like the most. Keep going up through the way to the top of the mountain to a sunny area and watch the landscape.

Descend into the Grotto to Investigate the Smoke

Keep going forward into the dark smoke area. Follow the way until you find Captain Aldous Thorpe getting corrupted.

Defeat Corrupted Captain Thorpe

First Boss Fight

Keep going forward into the dark smoke area. Follow the way until you find Captain Aldous Thorpe getting corrupted. You must defeat him. When his health reaches 0, you will see a new cutscene where he attacks you with reddish energy and you block defend yourself while some blueish energy comes out from you. After this cutscene you will be thrown to the multiplayer world with all the other players and the Tutorial level will be concluded.

You will then be teleported to a random area in the map. And your first quests will correspond to the area you spawned.

You are free now to roam around the world. You can start New Quests by talking to the NPCs you find in your way, and by completing quests you will earn Rewards. You will find abandoned destroyed ships on the coast, these may have interesting items.

Investigate the Watchtower

There's a signal that can be seen from very far, reach the encampment with NPCs and possibly other new players.

Talk to the Watcher

The Watcher is an NPC whose name depends on the territory where you first spawned but the given quests and rewards will be the same.

By talking to the Watcher, they will give you with Duelist's Boots as a reward for completing the Sole Survivor Quest. Keep talking to them to obtain a new Quest.

Investigate the Shipwreck marked on your map

Follow the mark on your compass to find the Shipwreck marked on your map.

Defeat Drowned

Once you reached the marked area, you will find Drowned, defeat 3 of them. They are very easy to defeat.

Talk to the Watcher

Return to the Watcher to earn your rewards. He will reward you with Duelist's Pants. And keep talking to him to obtain a New Quest.

Objectives

• Gather Flint from the ground.
• Gather Wood from a bush.

You can find Flint where there's a group of rocks on the ground nearby. You can also find a Bush on the area with more grass.

Craft a Flint Skinning Knife at the Watch Tower

Find the Watch Tower. You can craft or rest in here. Pick Craft. Find Flint Skinning Knife on the crafting menu (Learned - Tools - Survival Tools - Flint Skinning Knife).

Talk to the Watcher

Talk to the Watcher to earn your Rewards. Accept the new Quest.

Hunt down a Boar to make yourself a meal

Find a Boar in the more forested area nearby and hunt it.

Equip a Skinning Knife

Go to your inventory and equip the Skinning Knife you crafted before, or craft one using Flint and Wood.

Skin a Boar to Collect Pork

Skin the hunted Boar to obtain Pork.

Cook a Light Ration at the Watch Tower

Go back to the Watch Tower, craft a Light Ration.

Talk to the Watcher

Talk to the Watcher, collect the Duelist's Shirt as a reward. Accept the next quest.

Search Shipwreck for Records and Remnants

Approach to the Shipwreck nearby, you can see it marked on your compass. 

From the First Location:

• Collect Ship's Roster
• Collect Ship's Manifest
• Collect Ship's Log

Each Journal is marked on your compass so they will be easy to find. If you are interested on having a deep look into these to find out more about the game's Lore, it is recommended to first take care of every enemy nearby so they won't bother you while you read them.

Search Shipwreck for Records and Remnants

Approach to the other Shipwreck nearby, you can see it marked on your compass.

Search Ship's Locker at wreck of the Second Location

Loot the chest on the Shipwreck. There's a Supply Stockpile that you can loot to find more interesting items.

Approach to the other Shipwreck nearby, you can see it marked on your compass.

From the Third Location:

• Collect the Ship's Flag from the Stern
• Collect the Ship's Flag from the Bow

Go up the shipwreck and climb to both the Stern and Bow to collect the Ship's Flag. Before coming back you may also loot the bottom of the Shipwreck. You will find a Supply Stockpile with interesting items.

Talk to the Watcher

Go back to the Watcher and talk to him. He will reward you with the Treated Wood Bow. Accept the next quest.

Walkthrough

Investigate the marked Cave

Follow the marked signal on your compass until you reach the marked Cave.

Search for the Source of the Corruption

Enter the cave, follow the marked signal on your compass. Destroy the Veil and enter the next area.

Defeat the Corrupted Chaplain

Corrupted Chaplain is a taller enemy, it is not hard to defeat, and it will be even easier if many players attack him at the same time. Loot the area before leaving.

Talk to the Watcher

Return to the Watcher and talk to him to collect the rewards. Accept the next Quest.

Open the Map

Press M to Open the Map. Mark your destination.

Talk to the Next Quest giver

Go to the marked location following the mark on the compass or by using the map. Your destination is a Town, find the Next Quest giver to obtain quests from them and give them the Watcher's Report. They will give you the Next Quest.

Talk to the Town Authority

You can talk to them and inmediately obtain the rewards. Keep talking to them to obtain the next quest.

Open the Trading Post

Find the Town's Trading Post. Buy and Sell items according to your needs and purposes. The items are sold between players.

Open a Storage Shed

Find the Town's Storage Shed and free some space from your inventory by leaving the stuff that you won't use or that are not necesary.

Claim the Rewards

Talk to the Marked NPC and claim your rewards. Accept the next Quest.

Talk to the NPC marked on your compass, you can directly claim the rewards and accept the next Quest from them. 

Walkthrough

Gather Materials from outside the town

• Gather 40 Stone by Mining Boulders
• Gather 16 Rawhide by Skinning Wolves and Boars
• Gather 40 Green Wood from Bushes or Trees

You may have already gathered and saved some of those materials before you obtained this quest, you can use them.

Craft Refined Materials

• Craft 10 Timbers at the Woodshop
• Craft 10 Stone Blocks at the Stonecutting Table
• Craft 4 Coarse Leather at the Tannery

Claim the Rewards

Talk to the Marked NPC and claim your rewards. Accept the Next Quest. You can also pick a Faction Mission from the Community Board. You may complete those quests if you want to gain extra XP, Gold, and Standing Territory, to help the Settlement but these quests are not mandatory.
