Jewelcrafting is a Crafting Trade Skill in New World. Jewelcrafting allows for the crafting of Trinkets such as Amulets, Rings and Earrings that provide passive bonuses to player characters. Trade Skills are a variety of non-combat skills that the player can invest in and master. Jewelcrafters can also craft Gems that can be affixed to equipment with sockets. Trade Skills belonging to the Crafting category focus on creating a large variety of items ranging from Weapons and Consumables to ammunition and furniture.
New World Jewelcrafting Information
Jewelcrafting is the Crafting skill focused on creating Trinkets by using resources and materials obtained from skills in the Gathering and Refining lines. Trinkets are jewelry comprised of amulets, rings and earrings which provide a bonus to a player's attributes. Trinkets are created using precious metals such as silver and embedded gems which determine the type of bonuses they provide. A higher level in Jewelcrafting will allow players to create better, more powerful trinkets, as well as improving their Gear Score range.
Jewelcrafting is performed at an Outfitting Station which can be found in Settlements. Outfitting Stations have a Tier level which can be increased by taking on Town Projects. Note that each trinket has a tier level requirement in order to craft. This tier level corresponds to the Outfitting Station's tier level. If your settlement's Outfitting Station level does not meet the requirement, you will need to either raise it or find another settlement with a Outfitting Station of a higher tier. Crafting weapons requires the player to be of the appropriate Jewelcrafting level as well. Leveling up in Jewelcrafting is a straightforward process. Players simply need to continuously craft trinkets raise their level in the skill. Collecting resources, however, is more involved and can prove more difficult.
Jewelcrafting Related Skills
Jewelcrafting is a skill that relies heavily on the following skills for resources and materials and as such, they are strongly recommended companion skills:
Note that materials for any Crafting skill can be obtained from other players as well by trading, so players can still be successful in Jewelcrafting even if they invest in other skills, but this requires playing the game's economy system.
Jewelcrafting Trinket Perks
While Crafting a trinket, it has a small chance of gaining one or more Perks. While these outcomes are random, there are a number of special materials that can be gathered in the world that, when used during the crafting process, can dictate what Perk is added to the weapon. However, there are still no guarantees that a Perk will indeed be added to the piece of equipment but the chance increases as the Crafting skill level increases.
Check the Perks page for a full list of possible trinket perks and the resources needed to imbue them onto crafted trinkets. Note that Trinkets cannot gain Empty Gem Sockets, unlike Weapons or Armor.
New World Jewelcrafting Guide
Navigation
The Jewelcrafting process begins by interacting with an Outfitting Station which are crafting stations found in Settlements. Within the crafting UI, you can see all your learned recipes on the left panel for all Crafting skills associated with the crafting station. Selecting a recipe displays the item and its required materials in the middle panel while displaying a preview of the potential result on the right. Note that from Jewelcrafting Levels 0 - 49, only Amulets are available for crafting. Rings are made available at Level 50 and Earrings at Level 100.
Recipe Panel
Displayed in the left panel are all available crafting recipes. Items displayed in White indicate that you meet all the requirements to craft the item. Items displayed in Red indicate that you do not meet one or more of the crafting requirements (Resources, Skill Level, etc.). The small icon to the right of each item displays the crafting skill used and the numerical value represents the minimum level required in the skill in order to craft the item.
Materials Panel
The materials panel in the middle displays the required materials in order to craft the item. In the case of Trinkets and the Jewelcrafting Skill, each Trinket is comprised of a Cut Gemstone, a Trinket Gem Setting, a Precious Metal Ingot and either a Trinket Chain for Amulets, Trinket Band for Rings or a Trinket Hook for Earrings.
When crafting items, it is important to note that the crafting station will draw from your pool of resources in both your Inventory as well as any Storage Sheds you possess within the Settlement so it is not necessary to clog up your inventory with crafting materials if you have a storage shed in the current settlement. Note that Storage Sheds are not shared between Settlements. Items you have in storage in Windsward cannot be used for crafting in First Light, for example. However, you can transfer items between storage sheds from the storage menu.
Special Resources and Azoth
Crafted Trinkets have a chance to gain one or more Perks during the crafting process, in addition to the defensive Perks granted by the Gemstones used. However, these Perks are completely random. Special Resources such as Chunk of Sparkmetal can be added during the crafting process to predetermine one of the added Perks. Note that this still does not guarantee that the chosen Perk is added at all. Unlike Weapons and Armor, Azoth cannot be used to improve the chances of gaining Perks. However, Trinkets have an innately higher chance to gain Perks compared to Weapons and Armor, but the chances are still not guaranteed.
Results Panel
The Results Panel displays various information regarding the resulting item. The most relevant info here is the Potential Gear Score and the Potential Perks. This preview updates as you modify your material choices.
The bottom half of the Results Panel displays a slider indicating how many of the items you wish to craft with the current settings and is useful for mass crafting sessions. This section also lists the requirements which show up in Green if you meet them and in Red if you do not. At the very bottom, the Tax for the current crafting session is displayed. This tax will vary depending on what the Settlement's Governor has set for crafting in this territory. Also displayed is the amount of Skill XP gained from the crafting session. When ready, click the Craft button to create your item.
Gemstones & Gemstone Perks
There are a wide variety of Gemstones that can be used to craft Trinkets. Similar to slotting Gemstones into Weapons and Armor, each type of Gemstone bestows a different defensive Perk to the resulting crafted Trinket. Unlike Weapons and Armor, these Gemstones cannot be replaced or removed from the Trinkets. Each Gemstone is also of a certain Quality as follows: Flawed, Regular, Brilliant and Pristine. A Gemstone's Quality determines the potency of the Perk it confers and also corresponds to its Tier level. Using a higher Tier Gemstone to craft a Trinket will result in a similarly higher Tier Trinket. Keep in mind that Gemstones are acquired via the Mining Skill but will need to be cut using the Stonecutting Skill before they can be used in Jewelcrafting. Both are invaluable as companion skills.

Jewelcrafting Trinket Components
Trinket Components can be made at the same Outfitting Station and the recipes for them can be found under the Crafting Components category in the recipe panel. Trinket Components are all made using the Precious Metals Silver Ingot, Gold Ingot, Platinum Ingot, Orichalcum Ingot and Asmodeum Ingot. Using components made from higher tier metals will result in a higher Gear Score for the resulting Trinket.
Gear Score & Item Yield
Leveling up in Jewelcrafting improves your crafted equipment's Minimum and Maximum Gear Score by tiers. Improving the Maximum Gear Score allows for the potential for better items while improving the Minimum Gear Score shortens the Gear Score range, making it easier to craft items at the higher end. Item Yield is not affected by leveling in Jewelcrafting.
Tier II Trinkets
The Maximum Gear Score for Tier II Crafted Trinkets improves in increments of 5 for every 5 levels, up to a maximum of 75 at level 70.
Starting at level 40, the Minimum Gear Score for Tier II Crafted Trinkets improves in increments of 5 for every 10 levels, up to a maximum of 20 at level 70.
Tier III Trinkets
Starting at level 50, the Maximum Gear Score for Tier III Crafted Trinkets improves in increments of 5 for every 5 levels, up to a maximum of 75 at level 120.
Starting at level 90, the Minimum Gear Score for Tier III Crafted Trinkets improves in increments of 5 for every 10 levels, up to a maximum of 20 at level 120.
Tier IV Trinkets
Starting at level 100, the Maximum Gear Score for Tier IV Crafted Trinkets improves in increments of 5 for every 5 levels, up to a maximum of 75 at level 170.
Starting at level 140, the Minimum Gear Score for Tier IV Crafted Trinkets improves in increments of 5 for every 10 levels, up to a maximum of 20 at level 170.
Tier V Trinkets
The Maximum Gear Score for Tier V Crafted Trinkets improves in increments of 5 at levels 150, 165, 180, 190 and finally maxing out at 25 at level 200.
The Minimum Gear Score for Tier V Crafted Trinkets cannot be improved by leveling.
New World Jewelcrafting Leveling Tips
Leveling up Jewelcrafting in New World allows for crafting of better, more powerful Trinkets with higher Gear Scores and also improves chances of imbuing them with Perks. Leveling up in Jewelcrafting unlocks more recipes as well as more powerful versions of existing recipes. Additionally, the crafting of Rings is unlocked at level 50 and the crafting of Earrings is unlocked at level 100.
As a general rule, sticking to lower tier items is the recommended method for quickly leveling up a Crafting Skill. This is due to the cost of crafting items increasing exponentially as you move up in tiers, with some higher level recipes costing up to double the amount of resources to craft. Another reason to craft lower tier items for leveling is the ease of gathering resources and the relative low market cost should you choose to purchase them instead.
For Jewelcrafting, there is not a lot of choices involving which items to make to level quickly as the craftable items are mostly the same and you only have access to Amulets in the beginning. It is recommended you stick to the Flawed Gemstone Tier II Amulets to keep costs low. The difficulty in leveling Jewelcrafting will come mostly from gathering enough materials. Each Trinket crafted requires a cut Gemstone as a material. Acquiring a cut Gemstone not only involves Mining for the uncut Gemstone, but also cutting it using elemental motes gathered through the Harvesting skill. Fortunately, you will be mining plenty of Silver Veins for Ore and they are also an excellent source of uncut gems. Additionally, the cutting of Tier II Gemstones can be done with Stonecutting at any level.
The following table details the experience required to reach certain levels in Jewelcrafting, as well as a general count for the amount of Crafted Items required to reach these thresholds. For simplicity's sake, the table only shows tier milestone levels instead of every single Jewelcrafting level.
New World Jewelcrafting Leveling Chart
Level | Required Experience | Crafted Items |
---|---|---|
Level 0 - 50 (Tier II) | 11,125 XP | 51 x Flawed Gemstone Amulet (Any) |
Level 50 - 100 (Tier III) | 86,250 XP | 394 x Flawed Gemstone Amulet (Any) |
Level 100 - 150 (Tier IV) | 404,550 XP | 1,848 x Flawed Gemstone Amulet (Any) |
Level 150 - 200 (Tier V) | 1,379,500 XP | 6,300 x Flawed Gemstone Amulet (Any) |
Leveling up in Jewelcrafting will require the use of a Tier II Outfitting Station, Tier II Stonecutting Table and a Tier III Smelter. For Gathering, you will want to get your Mining skill to Level 10 to mine Silver Veins and your Harvesting skill to Level 30 in order to harvest Magical Plants for Motes. Alternatively, you can also gather motes through Mining if you have it at Level 50 which should be easy to achieve as you gather the materials required to level Jewelcrafting itself.
Level 0 to 200
Fortunately, you only ever have to craft one type of item to take you all the way to 200 Jewelcrafting and this is the Flawed Gemstone Amulet, where the Gemstone is interchangeable between any of the 14 Gemstone types. Each amulet is made up of 1 cut Gemstone, 1 x Silver Chain, 1 x Silver Setting and 1 x Silver Ingot. The total material requirements are as follows:
Flawed Gemstone Amulet (8,591 total)
- 8,591 x Cut Flawed Gemstone (Any)
- 8,591 x Silver Chain: Comprised of 42,955 x Silver Ingot (or 171,820 x Silver Ore)
- 8,591 x Silver Setting: Comprised of 34,364 x Silver Ingot (or 137,456 x Silver Ore)
- 8,591 x Silver Ingot: Comprised of 34,364 x Silver Ore
- In total, you will need 343,640 x Silver Ore
The Amulet itself only yields 192 XP per craft, but keep in mind that the Silver Chain and Silver Setting Components are also crafted using Jewelcrafting, with each yielding 15 XP and 12 XP respectively for a grand total of 219 XP per Amulet crafted.
While the whole leveling process will require a very large amount of Silver Ores, it is also very efficient as each Silver Vein has a small chance of yielding 1-3 uncut Gemstones. It is highly recommended that you invest in a Pickaxe with the Miner's Luck Perk and any of the potato-based consumables such as Roasted Potatoes, Herb-Roasted Potatoes, Boiled Potatoes and Poultry with Roasted Potatoes, all of which provide aboost to your mining luck and chance to gather Gemstones. The Engineering-crafted Proficiency Booster potions are also a great way to increase your gathering yield.
The table below lists all Uncut Gemstones that can be used in the crafting recipe and the type of Mote used to cut them.
Gemstone | Required Motes | Gemstone | Required Motes |
