Rapiers are a type of Weapon in New World. Rapiers are agile, melee weapons that employ quick attacks and powerful debuffs. They can be obtained in a number of ways: Through Crafting, found as random loot in chests and containers, as random drops by Enemies and Bosses or as rewards for completing Quests. Weapons provide many different options and approaches to combat, allowing the player to deal damage in different ways.
New World Rapiers Overview
The Rapier is a light, one-handed melee weapon that specializes in very quick, stylish attacks and rewards skillful play. Rapiers specialize in applying powerful Bleed effects that deal moderate, sustained amounts of damage over time that can be stacked. These stacks can then be popped with a finishing move for massive burst damage. Rapier wielders can also specialize in evasive, counterattack-oriented skills that can turn an enemy's strengths against them.
The Rapier's damage scales primarily off of the player's Dexterity Attribute, with Intelligence providing some benefit as well. Investing in these attributes will improve the player's effectiveness with all Rapier weapons.
Rapier Skills
Rapiers have two Masteries at their disposal. The Blood Skill Tree mainly focus on boosting the player's offensive output but also in causing Bleed or Rend, while the Grace Skill Tree mainly focus on evasion and mobility, rendering the player character harder to hit.
