Strength is a Core Attribute in New WorldStrength determines the amount of damage you deal with certain melee Weapons. It governs directly over four types of Weapons and indirectly over another type of Weapons. Core Attributes have thresholds every 50 points that grant you different bonuses. Players earn points to allocate to Core Attributes when they level up.

 

Strength Information

Strength rules directly over the damage output of the following Weapon types: Great Axes, Hatchets, Swords and War Hammers

Sword and Shield

  • Primary Damage Scaling: Strength 1.17 points of damage per point invested
  • Secondary Damage Scaling: Dexterity 0.85 points of damage per point invested

Hatchets

  • Primary Damage Scaling: Strength 1.15 points of damage per point invested
  • Secondary Damage Scaling: Dexterity 0.86 points of damage per point invested

Great Axes

  • Primary Damage Scaling: Strength 1.66 points of damage per point invested
  • No secondary Damage scaling attribute.

War Hammers

  • Primary Damage Scaling: Strength 1.72 points of damage per point invested
  • No secondary Damage scaling attribute.

 

Strength also influences the damage output of Spears as a secondary damage scaling Attribute:

Spears

  • Primary Damage Scaling: Dexterity 1.29 points of damage per point invested
  • Secondary Damage Scaling: Strength 0.92 points of damage per point invested

 

Strength Thresholds

Every 50 Points spent on Strength, players reach a threshold and two different Bonuses are unlocked. One is Combat-related, while the other one focuses on different Crafting or Gathering skills.

50 +5% Damage to melee weapon light attacks +10% Mining speed
100 +10% Damage to melee weapon heavy attacks +20 Encumbrance
150 +50% Stamina damage from melee weapon light and heavy attacks +10% decrease in weight of mined items
200 +10% Damage on stunned, slowed, or rooted Enemies +10% Mining speed
250 Stamina regen is faster while performing light and heavy attacks with a melee weapon +10% yield increase when mining
300 Light and heavy attacks with a melee weapon gain GRIT 25% chance to mine an ore with a single swing
