New World Winter Convergence Festival Event Overview
The holiday of the Winter Convergence has arrived in Aeternum! Marked by the appearance of increased snowfall and Northern Lights in the sky, this is a time of duality and dichotomy as the Yeti, the Winter Wanderer, comes to the land. While in the settlements gifts are exchanged to mark the passing of the year, outside the safety of the walls there rages a wintry war between the positive forces of Winter (slumber, perseverance) championed by the Winter Wanderer's positive side and the negative forces of Winter (death, stagnation) are championed by the Winter Wanderer's negative side. The player takes on the cause of the Winter Wanderer to collect Winter Tokens from repeatable events across the island, able to turn them in to a Holiday Shop containing rare and cosmetic items. The Winter Wanderer's positive aspect grows in power with each Token collected and turned in.
Icy winds and the Winter Wanderer bring with them new armors, weapons, furnishings, skins, consumables, and a delightful “present gifting” emote; all themed off the wonderful Aeternum holiday of Winter Convergence!
Winter Convergence Festival Mechanics
Winter Villages
The Winter Wanderer has set up four villages around Aeternum which serve as hubs to facilitate the event's activities. In each of these village, you will be able to meet the Winter Wanderer and take part in his quests and activities.
The locations for the Winter Villages are as follows:
- Brightwood - To the very west, next to the border to Ebonscale Reach
- Weaver's Fen - East of the Spirit Shrine in the very north of the region.
- Monarch's Bluffs - Directly south of the settlement.
- Everfall - All the way to the east, near the northern tip of the river separating Everfall and Reekwater.
At these Winter Villages, you will be able to interact with the Winter Wanderer who will hand you Quests. The Winter Wanderer also runs the Convergence Shop where you can get most of the Event's rewards.
Convergence Shop
The Convergence Shop is a special Event store that sells all manner of event items including Weapons, Armor, Furnishings, Consumables, Skins and more in exchange for Winter Tokens. Higher tier items may also require Premium Winter Tokens which can be acquired by turning in Winter Tokens at the Holiday Hut. The items available for purchase are also locked behind Event Reputation Ranks. Players rank up by reaching certain reputation thresholds. The following is a list of each Rank and the amount of Reputation required to achieve them:

Winter Tokens
How to earn Winter Tokens?
Winter Tokens can be acquired a number of ways:
- Completing the Winter Wanderer's Quests.
- Collecting your Daily Free Gift at the Gift Sack next to the Winter Wanderer in any Winter Village. (Limited to 1 gift per day; can only collect from 1 Winter Village)
- Collecting your Daily Free Gift at the Tree of Light in any Settlement. (Limited to 1 gift per day; can only collect from 1 Settlement)
- Exchanging currency acquired from Activities (Lost Presents, Gleamite) at the Holiday Hut.
Holiday Hut
The Holiday Hut is a special Crafting Station available at the Winter Villages. From the Holiday Hut, you can craft Winter Tokens by turning in your Lost Presents and Gleamite activity currencies. Unlike regular Crafting, there are no crafting costs involved when using the Holiday Hut. Similarly, your Crafting Skill levels do not affect your token output.
Winter Tokens can be exchanged as follows:
- 1 x Winter Token in exchange for 3 x Lost Presents
- 1 x Winter Token in exchange for 10 x Gleamite
Additionally, you can also make use of the Token Conversion to acquire Premium Winter Tokens or convert them back to standard Winter Tokens:
- 1 x Premium Winter Token in exchange for 25 x Winter Tokens
- 25 x Winter Tokens in exchange for 1 x Premium Winter Token
Activities
There are three main activities that you can participate in during the event. Each of these activities have specific rewards and participating in them will also grant Event Reputation.
Lost Present Recovery
The Frigid Folk have been stealing presents all across Aeternum. Some of these presents have been dropped along roads on the island and can be recovered. Players can turn these Lost Presents in over at the Holiday Hut in any of the Winter Villages. Doing so will award players with Winter Tokens.
Gleamite Collecting
During nighttime on Aeternum, beautiful Gleamite Meteors will fall from the sky as part of a new random, dynamic event. Players can follow these meteor crashes to harvest this special mineral. Players can harvest the small, loose ores on the ground around in the impact points or they can look for the larger Gleamite Chunks which they can mine in order to get more Gleamite. Gleamite can be turned in at the Holiday Hut in exchange for Winter Tokens.
The Convergence Spirit
The Convergence Spirit is a special Town Project that can be started in any Settlement. Players can collectively complete tasks in order to upgrade their Settlement's Tree of Light. Doing so will improve the Daily Gifts that players can collect at the base of the tree during the Event. These gifts award Winter Tokens.
Ice Caves
Ice Caves are appearing all over Aeternum due to the Winter Warrior's desire for a Forever Winter. They are snowy and icy caves that the yeti uses to make snow fall. The rest of Aeternum will look like these Ice Caves if the onslaught of the Warrior is not stopped. These caves will remain behind after the event as scars on the land, sources of wintry magic that refuse to melt even if the Warrior is defeated.
Ice Caves are new locations added all over Aeternum. Within are special Yeti enemies that players may be tasked with defeating as part of the Winter Wanderer's Quests.
