Simon Grey is a Boss in New World. Simon Grey can be found at Obelisk Cavern during Amrine Excavation Expedition. Simon Grey is a Level 26 Boss. By defeating Simon Grey you will be instantly rewarded with: +84.00 Coin, +2100 XP and +210 Weapon Mastery.
Simon Grey Information
Simon Grey is the final Boss of the Amrine Excavation Expedition and it's required to defeat him to complete it. Simon can be found at the Obelisk Cavern. He can be seen from very far due to his size even thou he is far. Defeat the enemies around before engaging into battle with Simon Grey, prepare yourselves before the battle is triggered by fully entering the arena.
Simon Grey takes a moment to say a few lines, during this period he cannot be damaged. You'll have to wait until you are able to see his health bar. At least one of the players should tank him to give space to the rest of the party, while they attack him from a distance with ranged attacks. Healers should mainly focus on the players that are tanking the battle. Simon's attacks can hit many players at once. Mind his Bash attack because it also deals area damage. Whenever Simon summons Star Excavation Workers, try to take them far away from Simon not to let him Empower them, and try to defeat them quickly before focusing on Simon again. Simon can also empower himself by consuming a Star Excavation Worker gaining temporal buffs, emanating a red aura. When he vomits the workers run to consume the vomit and get empowered as well, meaning that if you don't control the crowd you could end up fighting against many empowered enemies and an empowered boss.
Simon Grey Abilities & Effects
Simon Grey can perform the following Abilities during battle and these are the effects:
- Charge: Simon dashes to a player and deals damage to everything on his trayectory. Block or dodge at the last second to mitigate or avoid damage completely.
- Bash: Simon smashes both hands making the target become stunned unless the attack is blocked.
- Summon Workers: Summons Star Excavation Workers to join the battle.
- Empower: Simon's Empower works two-fold. After vomiting his corrupted sludge, any Workers that consume it will become empowered for a few seconds. Simon will then rush to any nearby empowered workers and consume them, empowering himself. An empowered Simon deals significantly more damage for a few seconds.
- Corrupted Sludge: Simon Vomits on a target, applying a poison debuff with a long duration, dealing damage over time. This ability leaves a pool of corruption on the ground that remains there for a while, it deals damage and applies the poison debuff to any player that walks on it. Also Star Excavation Workers nearby will dash over to the pool and consume it. Gaining 'Empowered' status effect on them.
