New World Beta Test Information
Closed Beta Test for New World
Amazon have announced a Closed Beta Test for New World leading up to its August 31, 2021 release. The New World Closed Beta will commence on July 20, 2021 at 9:30AM PT (4:30PM UTC) and will conclude on August 2, 2021 at 11:59M PT (6:59AM UTC), available to a select audience from around the world. The purpose of the Beta Test is to preview the many new and exciting changes the developers have made to New World since the Summer 2020 Alpha preview, conduct server stress tests and collect player feedback to continuously improve New World.
New World Closed Beta Test Access & Eligibility
Players can participate in the New World Closed Beta Test through the following methods:
- Sign up on the
- Pre-order the game from Amazon
- Pre-order the game from Steam
The Developers will randomly select participants from the Tester Sign-up page at regular intervals throughout the Closed Beta's duration. Players who have signed up should check their e-mails throughout the testing period to see if they've received an invite.
Players who pre-order on Amazon by July 17 at 11:59PM PT (6:59AM UTC) will receive an invite on July 19. Pre-orders on Amazon after July 17 will receive an invite up to 48 hours after order confirmation.
If you have been invited to the Closed Beta through the tester sign-up page or preordered on Amazon, you will receive a Steam Key that can be redeemed through your Steam Library. Once your key is redeemed you should see "New World Closed Beta" in your Steam Game Library to download. From there, you should be able to log in and play during the duration of the Closed Beta.
Players who preorder on Steam will automatically receive access to the Closed Beta and “New World Closed Beta” will appear in your Steam Game Library for download.

The Closed Beta servers will be available in the North America, Europe, Australia and Brazil.
What languages will the Closed Beta be available in?
The Closed Beta will support English voice-over and text in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain & LATAM), Polish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Can I talk / post / create content about / or stream the Closed Beta?
Yes, during the Closed Beta you are allowed to share, record, or broadcasting any Beta content or gameplay. You can also share your feedback on the Official Beta Forums.
Can I collect footage from the Closed Beta to use in later content if that content is released later?
Yes, you can capture footage of the Closed Beta to use at a later date. However, there will be changes and updates between Closed Beta and launch that may cause captured content to be inaccurate or out of date.
Will my Beta progress be carried over to launch?
No. All player progress will be wiped prior to the August 31, 2021 launch.
How will you be selecting and inviting people who signed up to be a tester for Closed Beta but did not pre-order?
Once Closed Beta begins, the devs will be randomly selecting participants who signed up on the official site and periodically sending invites via e-mail over the course of the beta test.
